Joe Ogborn

poem: we do not argue anymores

There are no fights.
There are no wars.
We do not argue anymores.
We do not work.
We do not strive.
There is no other way of life.
We simply smile
at glowing screens
serving up a tailored stream
of shows
and gossip
and no-news news,
of clothes to buy
and the latest shoes.
There is no virtue,
just de-vice,
and ours is not to question why.
Don’t look away or avert your eyes for
there are no fights;
there are no wars;
we do not argue anymores.
